My child takes voice lessons with Noel Memorial Arts. I walked in without a mask sat down and nothing was said to me. My 11 year old daughter walked in five min. after me. A woman confronted her and gave her a hard time about not wearing one. This woman was rude and immature. Only to find out that this woman was the President of the Board.

BE WARNED! This place is no longer a true Christian institution. Since the appointment of the new pastor (Flint Shea) Noel UMC has been on a steady downward decline. With horrible treatment of workers, misuse of the budget funds, looking down on the African American population who might try to attend, pandering and brown-nosing to the wealthy attendees for funds and the near total removal of any Christian teachings from services, this 100 year old church has turned into a country-club that occasionally does good deeds for the community.

I used to attend this church years ago but left because of the downward spiral it was going down and the lack of Christ's teachings. I was horrified to hear what happened at the service today (September 11, 2011) from a friend of the family who still attends church here (though no longer after what happened today). The "pastor" lined the altar with religious symbols from other religions and philosophies including buddism and taught about the different names of God in other religions and how no matter what you call God or how you serve/worship Him then that's okay. Clearly, the "pastor" completely forgot the scripture where Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6

People walked out on this sermon and it's good that they did!

I just want to warn other believers out there. If you're looking for a church, this is not it! This is not a Christian church by any means, despite what the building says. If you know what's good for you, STAY AWAY!

  • Fabulous day care! My toddler son is happy and joyful throughout the day, and talks about his teachers and friends at school nonstop when he's at home. The child care providers are professional and caring, and the administration is accessible and friendly. A wonderful environment for our family.

  • Noel is such a warm and welcoming Church where the Gospel of Jesus is preached and lived daily. They have amazing outreach programs to the community, mission opportunities, youth program, children's department, and community Arts programs. The staff, parishioners, volunteers, and visitors to this Church are embraced in loved, cultivated with faith, and sent with conviction to serve all of God's people in fulfilling Christ's call. This is a community where ALL are welcome and embraced daily!

  • Great multigenerational and multiethnic medium size United Methodist church that has great Christian ministry opportunities for children, youth, and adults. The multiple worship services (traditional and contemporary) have outstanding music, teaching, and preaching. There are many different mission opportunities to work in the community, around the city, or in other states and countries. The food pantry ministry serves hundreds, if not thousands, of families around the city all year long. They seem to be doing something new every time we are there. The Noel Community Arts Program serves the community and shares the love of Jesus Christ with art and music lessons for everyone. If you are looking for a wonderful Christian church that truly cares about the community it is in, then join them on Sunday morning and all week long. The staff and members are warm and welcoming to all and care about sharing gospel with everyone.
